I use design and data to make the outdoors more accessible for all.
Hello! My name is Abigail Johnson and I am a recent graduate of Dartmouth College, where I studied Quantitative Social Science and Human-Centered Design. Design gave me the mindset and the tools to tackle complex, intangible problems with a sense of agency, and it's my goal to apply my design skills to the things I love. After graduation, I applied design thinking and my passion for equitable access to outdoor recreation at the National Park Service, where I supported adaptive recreation in the parks through resource, training, and program development. In 2025, I traveled to Sweden on the H. Allen Brooks Travelling Fellowship to study the nuances of access to outdoor recreation in Nordic countries. I am currently a recreation planner and designer at CRO Planning & Design, where I continue to use data research and design to help make the outdoors more accessible for all.
